Essay On The Scene Of A Wedding
Wedding is an important ritual in Indian culture. Be it a son or a daughter his or her wedding is performed in a luxurious way. Every parent spends according to their capacity. Showcasing grandeur and wealth at a wedding has become an inseparable part of today’s society.
Last week I got a chance to attend the wedding of my classmate’s sister. A few of my other school friends were with me. The wedding was at a park near Sanatan Mandir in Sadashiv Peth. A huge pandal was erected in the park. The entrance of the pandal was very magnificent; it was like an entrance of a palace. An electric fountain was sprinkling scented water at the entrance. The entire floor was covered with colorful carpets. There were approximately two thousand chairs.
On one side of the tent eating arrangements were done. The tables were decorated with various food items. Mouthwatering items like chaat, panipuri, and different kinds of sweets were also present. Cold drinks and different flavors of ice cream were kept on one side. The bride’s family had made great arrangements to welcome the bridegroom’s family. Soft instrumental music was being played
The tent looked crowded. Ladies and children were looking attractive in colorful dresses. Young girls were waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. They were carrying decorative plates in their hands. The bridegroom arrived with his family at 9:30 A.M. They were received cordially by the bride’s family. The bridegroom was made to stand on a dais and was welcomed with divas. The bride was taken near the groom. She was looking very beautiful. Both were seated on the dais. Prayers were performed and the couple got married by exchanging garlands. There was a huge applause. The whole ceremony was recorded on a video camera.
The atmosphere was happy and exciting. People were enjoying themselves with food. They were meeting each other. Some people were chatting while some were eating. People started dispersing after 10:30 A.M. We took our lunch quite late. Our friends then gave best wishes and gifts to the couple and came home.
