Essay On Hindi Our National Language
Language is an important medium of communication. Every country has its own language which is used throughout that country. India is a vast country having different languages, costumes, religions, and castes. However, in spite of the diversity, we are united. There are different reasons why we remain united in spite of such varied cultures, the most important among them being our national language, Hindi.
A country cannot achieve success if there is no common language. We cannot think independently and no progress is possible without it. Keeping these points in mind, we accepted Hindi as our National language on 26th January 1950. Hindi is the pride of our nation. It has all the necessary qualities required for becoming a national language. It is the widely used and widely spoken language in the country. It is our strength that gives the message of unity and nationality. It awakens the feeling of self–respect, love, and nationalism among the citizens.
But unfortunately, we have failed to give Hindi a respected position and the government will have to seriously think about it. Though Hindi is our national language we feel proud to communicate in English. This is not good. We should try hard to propagate and make our national language popular. We should feel proud of using Hindi at every place. Even invitation cards, signboards, all kinds of bills, and legal documents should be in Hindi.
All government correspondence should be carried out in Hindi. Hindi should be made a compulsory subject up to graduation. We can make good use of newspapers and television for making people aware. Love for national language will automatically popularize the language. If other countries can progress through their national languages, why can’t we?
