Essay On If The Sun Never Rose
“Raju, get up. You’ll be late for school” my mother was trying to wake me up as usual.
“Just five minutes,” I said and went off to sleep again. Suddenly an idea came to my mind. What would happen if there is no sun? If the doctors can go on a strike, workers can go on a strike, why can’t the sun?
Oh really! What a great idea! Mummy would not have to wake me up every morning. There would be no school. There would not be any exam and so there would be no essay to write. We can just rest in the bed the whole day, not the whole night. We can enjoy playing for hours together. The scorching heat of the sun would not disturb us. Everybody’s timetable would collapse.
But then there won’t be any rain if there is no sun. Water would never evaporate. Trees won’t be able to synthesize their food and as a result, we won’t get any food. How can we survive without food or even fruits? The atmosphere would change suddenly. The temperature would come down. There will be no oxygen available for breathing. We won’t be able to make use of the solar equipment.
There would be total darkness on the earth. We will have to put on the lights for twenty-four hours. This would definitely increase our monthly electricity charges. However, thieves would take full advantage of this situation. But for other people, it would be difficult to go to their respective workplaces or continue their business. We would become lazy. The moon and the stars would disappear from the sky. How can we then enjoy the magic of moonlight? Our life would be totally miserable, and depressing. The whole world would be in a mess. Even the thought made me shiver.
I realized then why we consider Sun as a god. I started praying for him and pleaded with him not to go on a strike.
