How true this proverb is! It explains the importance of fruits. Fruits fulfill all the requirements of our body and keep us healthy. They supplement us with the necessary vitamins and minerals. So fruits should be the part and parcel of our daily diet.
We should consume fruits according to the season. Seasonal and fresh fruits are very nutritious. Vitamins in fruits are lost when they get dry. Spoiled, old fruits are not good for health as they may contain harmful germs. The sliced fruits that we buy openly in the market may also contain germs and consuming such fruits can invite lots of diseases.
Scientists are experimenting to increase the production of fruits. New seedlings are being developed. Seedlings of some rare fruits are exported. So, the latest varieties of fruits are available in the market which is good for our health. But at the same time, many harmful chemicals and insecticides are sprayed on these fruits to prevent them from various kinds of disease. Sometimes the fruits are painted with colors to make them look attractive. Such insecticides and colors penetrate inside the fruit skin and are very bad for our bodies. So the government should ban these chemicals. The fruits should be made available in their natural form.
Nowadays, all kinds the fruits are available throughout the year. Or we can even enjoy them by making preparations such as jams, jellies, squash, etc. Fruit juices can be preserved by adding salt and sugar. But it is always better to consume fruits as per the season because they are juicy and tasty. Preserved fruits lack these qualities. To conclude.
