Television is one of the latest inventions of science. Today we don’t find any single house without T.V. Starting from the big multistories to the road side huts have all got a T.V. Benefits of T.V. can not be underestimated. It is the most popular means of communications. We are connected to the whole world through it. It keeps us in touch with the latest news from all the parts of the world. It entertains us by telecasting different programmes for different interest groups and age groups. It telecasts educational programmes for students as well as farmers. It gives us information about new discoveries and tells us some hidden truths about the animals.

But these days children are learning bad things through it. They keep sitting in front of it and are least interested in outdoor sports. It creates health problems. Watching a lot of T.V. also affects the eyes as well as it is a reason for the lack of concentration. If we balance out the T.V. viewing time and time for work and study then the T.V. is a boon else it may became a curse.

The Television is one of the greatest and most popular inventions of man. Practically every home has a T.V. today. It provides entertainment 24 hours a day, everyday. It provides programmes that interest all age groups through its many channels. It keeps people from getting bored but also very economically. The expense to view its programs would not suffice to go to a theatre and watch a single film.

Apart from entertainment, the T.V. provides the cheapest means of education, information and news just for a few hundred rupees. The T.V. provides news, views, films, plays, serials, music, magic shows, cartoon films, circus shows, games, sports, religious programmes etc. The same amount would not suffice to go to a theatre to go and watch a single film. The T.V. is indeed a great boon to man.

Too much of anything is not good. So also T.V. watching should be done in moderation watching it just for a certain amount of time each day. Because of T.V. our other regular activities must not suffer. T.V. should be watched only after completion of my school home-work and studies. T.V. watching should not take up my games time which is essential to keep my body fit and healthy.

In short T.V. is and can be a great blessing in one’s life if one watches only selected programmes that will help him. He must watch the T.V. without letting it take away the time from other more important activities. It can became a curse if one allows oneself to become a T.V. Addict. The T.V. can be a very good servant as long as you are in full control. If one becomes its slave the T.V. becomes a very bad master.

The television is a great gift of modern science. It was invented by a scientist, Baird. These days it is very popular. It is a good source of entertainment.

Televisions have almost replaced the radios and transistors. There are many different programmes everyday on television.

There are films, songs, music, dramas, plays etc. to keep the viewers entertained. Republic Day and Independence Day functions at national and regional levels are also shown on television. Now people have colour televisions. It makes viewing more interesting and exciting.

The television is an improvement on the radio. With it we can see cultural programmes. It is also a great source of distance teaching and education. There are special school and college transmissions.

Thousands of students who cannot attend a school, college or a university are taught through it. Its appeal both to the eyes and the ears is great. It makes learning easy. Though television is a very useful thing but, if we see it continuously it can affect our eye-sight.
