Pola festival falls on the last day of Marathi month Shravan. It is celebrated in a very traditional way. The farmers bathe their bullocks in the morning. Then they decorate them with colorful stripes and garlands. They also color their horns. Its back is covered with beautiful shawls. Then a long procession of all the bullocks in the village is conducted. Youths dance to the tunes of dhol and lezim. Ladies of the village worship the bullocks. They are offered sweets called Puranpoli. All people bow to them to show respect. Fairs are held in many places. People enjoy the merry-go-rounds, giant wheels, and various entertainments.
