Essay On The Autobiography of a Sheep Dog

I am a lovely young sheep dog. My master is very kind to me. He keeps me clean and feeds me well. He values me a lot because I render him good service. I learnt my work from my mother who was also an expert in guarding the sheep from their enemies.

It is my business to take the sheep to the pastures in the morning and bring them safely back home in the evening. If any sheep strays from the flock, I know it by instinct. I trace the straggler and bring it back safely to the flock. I take them to their fold for the night and guard them well. My master appreciates me very much. I am his right hand. I understand all his orders whether given by words or by signs, and carry them out quickly and efficiently.

I like my work and I love my master. I am proud to be a sheep dog and not a lap dog. I live a brave and manly life. Like the lapdog, I am not a show piece. I hate to be a toy and to be caressed and pampered by people. I know my life is rough and dangerous. But that is why I want this the thrill and romance of a brave life. I am indeed happy with a lot in my life. I hope I shall always remain with my present master and continue to serve him faithfully to the end of my days.
