Essay On A Visit to a Factory
Our school got permission for us to visit Tata Soap Factory. This factory produced soaps, shampoos and cosmetics.
The manager met us at the entrance and took us round the place. We first saw the soap-making process. There were huge boilers in which the ingredients were put. Large machines did most of the jobs. The soap was poured into moulds, removed from the moulds and then sent to another part of the factory by conveyor belts. Here the soaps were automatically wrapped and made ready for dispatch to various dealers.
Many workers were employed in the factory. Each one did a specialised job. Their work is dull and monotonous. The machines made a deafening noise. The heat was unbearable.
Then we went over to the other side of the factory that manufactured cosmetics. Here we got the sweet smell of perfume as we entered the place. We learnt how face creams, talcum powder and other toilet requirements are made. The manager was very kind to us. He served us tea and snacks.
Our visit to the factory was interesting and instructive. Yet we felt that it is dull to be a factory worker. People have become the servants of machines and do mechanical work to earn, living and provide us with the necessities and luxuries of life that we need.
