Essay On A Visit to a Cinema
It was my birthday. I wanted to give my friends a treat. I took my father’s permission and invited six of my friends to see a movie with me.
We decided to go to the Globe theatre. It is a large theatre equipped with all the modern conveniences. The seats are comfortable and the theatre is air-conditioned.
The film we went to see was based on the life of Helen Keller. Its title was “The Miracle Worker”. It gave us a vivid picture of the hardships and difficulties that Ann Sullivan, Helen’s teacher had to put up within educating her. We were filled with admiration for the teacher as well as the pupil. We admired the patience of the teacher, she had a very stubborn pupil. We also admired Helen Keller for her determination in overcoming all her physical handicaps. How hard it was for her to educate herself when she was blind, deaf and dumb.
Though we enjoyed the film, some of the people in the theatre troubled us. Two people kept talking loudly all the time. Some others made a crackling sound by eating potato wafers. We could do nothing to stop them from disturbing us. Such people are insensitive citizens.
We came away from the theatre feeling happy and proud. We felt proud because human beings who have a strong will can sweep away all obstacles to become great people like Helen Keller
