Set 2: Essay On My Favourite Game

I am a good player. I generally play kabaddi, football and cricket. This year I have represented my school in various tournaments. I am a member of the school team. Kabaddi is my favourite game. It is an Indian game. Village boys like it very much.

The rules for the game are simple. Players are divided into two teams. While forming the teams, the strength and skill of the players is taken into account. A line is drawn across the field. It is known as pala. When the players take their position, the whistle goes off and the game starts.

Then the player of the one side goes to the opposite side calling out loudly ‘kabaddi, kabaddi’. He tries to touch the players of the other side. If he touches a player and comes back to his side, he scores a point. One the other hand, if a player visiting the other side breaks his breath and is touched by someone of the other party or fails to return to his party, he loses a point. The same process is repeated by the players of the other team also. In this way, the game goes on. The team scoring more points within a fixed time period, wins the game.

Thee is another way of playing the game. This is rather an orthodox way. According to the ancient method of playing the game, a player runs from his side to the other side and cries loudly ‘kabaddi, kabaddi’. If he touches some player of the opposite party and comes back to the pala, and on the other hand if the player visiting the other side breaks the breath and is touched by someone of the team he himself becomes dead.

I like the game very much. It is also not very costly. It makes us united and disciplined. It teaches us how to behave like a disciplined unit. It fills team spirit in us. It is amusing and exciting.

This game is best suited to the condition of country. It can be played anywhere and at anytime. Any number of players can take part in it
